Dear FTS Community,

On behalf of the Board of Education, we are pleased to provide you with the following updates from the most recent Board of Education meeting:

● The Board of Education voted to move forward with a bond referendum, which will be presented to the community for a vote during the November election. This bond, totaling approximately $2.8 million will fund various improvements, alterations, renovations, and upgrades at Franklin Township School, including renovations to restrooms, the main office, and the school nurse’s suite, the acquisition and installation of an emergency generator, and improvements to the existing parking lot. A town hall Q&A will be scheduled in the fall to address any questions you may have. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.

● The firm of Porzio, Bromberg & Newman presented a draft of the regionalization study during the executive session. The final copy of this study will be made available on the district website prior to the joint Board of Education meeting on September 5, 2024, between the districts involved in the regionalization study. There will be an opportunity for a public Q&A session with the consultants during this meeting.

● The Board of Education has formed a special committee to interview potential candidates for the position of Interim Superintendent. The committee plans to make a recommendation for a final candidate to serve as Interim Superintendent for the 2024-2025 school year during the regular September Board of Education meeting.

Thank you for your ongoing support and active involvement in our school district.

Yours in education,

Dr. Nicholas A. Diaz
