Franklin Township Environmental Commission’s

Fourth Annual Tree Seedling Giveaway

Saturday, April 20

11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. (while seedlings last!)

Township Municipal Building, 202 Sidney Rd.

The New Jersey Tree Recovery Campaign assists communities in the restoration of the tree canopy damaged or destroyed by Superstorm Sandy.

To date, more than 500,000 trees have been distributed around New Jersey through this program, in partnership with the New Jersey Forest Service and Arbor Day Foundation.

Franklin will receive a variety of tree species, but there is no published list. Species are distributed based on what grows best in our area.

Trees are an important asset to our community. They help mitigate flood potential, reduce home cooling costs, improve visual appeal of neighborhoods and business districts, increase property values, remove air pollutants and provide wildlife habitat.

The environmental commission’s events are supported this year in part with a Sustainable Jersey grant funded by the PSEG Foundation.
