Recycling Opportunities in Franklin Township

The Franklin Township Environmental Commission working with our Municipal Staff has set up recycling opportunities for Old Medications, Inkjet Cartridges, and Electronic Waste.  Below are ways within our Township for easy recycling of these items:

  • Medicine Drop Box and Naloxone Availability
  • Did you know 70% of adolescents who misuse prescription drugs start with drugs found at home? It’s extremely important to dispose of any leftover prescription medications, especially opioids, narcotics, or addictive drugs, safely.
  • An on-site, safe medicine drop-off box is available in the lobby of the Municipal Building.
  • Did you know NJ allows anyone 14 years or older to acquire naloxone (aka Narcan) anonymously and at no cost at participating pharmacies.  Narcan is used in case of an accidental drug overdose to save someone’s life.  Most of our local pharmacies participate, including Shoprite, Walgreens, Walmart, CVS, Bowkers, Grayrock, and Holland Center.
  • More information can be found on the Franklin Twp website: https://franklin-twp.org/departments/police/

  • Inkjet Cartridges Recycle & Save Challenge makes an impact for Franklin Township’s Environmental Commission! Here’s how you can help:
  1. Recycle your empty inkjet cartridges at www.planetgreenrecycle.com using our Program ID 31833.

  • eWaste
  • We’re excited to share that Franklin Township’s DPW team, led by Rick Roll, successfully collected more than 4 1/2 tons of e-waste as part of our ongoing recycling initiative — old TVs, computers, monitors, printers and fax machines! This is a huge achievement, and it’s all thanks to your participation and dedication to keeping our community clean and sustainable.
  • E-waste containers are available year-round at the DPW yard, 85 Locust Grove Road.

Together, we can make a lasting difference!

However, our work doesn’t stop here. There’s still more to be done, and every little bit counts. Let’s continue the momentum and keep working together to make a positive impact on our environment
