The Somerset Union and Hunterdon SCD offices are holding a Local Working Group with the NRCS (federal agency partner). Please see the attached flyer for the event to be held on 2/20/25 from 9-11 am at the Somerset County 4H Building.
The Local Working Groups are held by the SCD offices with the NRCS (federal agency) to listen to the needs and wants of producers for current and future funding by the federal government. There are many funding and assistance opportunities through the SCD offices for the townships, counties, nonprofits, etc. for resource assistance such as urban agriculture, traditional farming, community gardens, etc. We already work well with your Building and Engineering Departments for the state law we govern. The intent of the Local Working Group is to listen to your residents and nonprofits in an attempt to provide funding and assistance now and in the future.
