Early in the morning on May 15th, 2025, a tree from the neighboring property fell on the power, cable and phone lines that connect to the current Franklin Township Municipal Building, 202 Sidney Road, Pittstown, NJ.  The incident sent a very strong power surge through the building causing damage to the Township’s electrical, phone and internet system. Damage assessment has determined that several significant repairs are needed and repairs are ongoing.

Phones and internet were down for most of the day on Friday, May 16th, 2025, resulting in extensive disruption of administrative services.

Additional repairs are scheduled to continue on Monday, May 19th, 2025.  The repairs require the building’s power to be shut off for most of the day .  To keep staff and residents safe during the repairs, the building will be closed to the public and Township administrative staff will be working remotely.  It is recommended at this time to contact the staff via email.
